Young Brothers Scolded for Texting Their Mom After Plane Had Engine Problems
Two young brothers were flying alone on a United Airlines jet to Boston when they learned their plane had engine problems and had to make an emergency landing. The scared boys texted their mom. When the plane landed safely, the boys were approached by a flight attendant and the plane’s pilot.
Nine-year-old Griffin Elliot said, “They, like, grabbed us by the arm walking down the jet way and they were like, ‘Oh, you boys are in so much trouble.’” Mairi Elliot, the boys’ mother, said, “He doesn’t deserve that. He was in a vulnerable state and he needed to talk to his mom and that’s all.”
The boys were also reportedly told that because of the incident, they might not be able to fly again. Mairi Elliot wants an apology from the airline, but has yet to hear back.
