School District in Bayonne, New Jersey Lowers Passing Grade From 70 to 65
Bayonne, New Jersey is making it easier for students to get passing grades by lowering the cutoff. Starting next year, a passing grade will go from 70 to 65. The school says it’s part of a three-year pilot program that will help students achieve their goals since only students with passing grades can participate in sports and clubs. Critics of the plan say it will keep students from working hard to get good grades.
