Obama Campaign Press Secretary Ben LaBolt: RNC Was a “Parade of Lies”
Obama campaign press secretary, Ben LaBolt responded to the GOP’s assertion at the RNC last week that America “can do better.” What the American people didn’t hear from Republicans, said LaBolt, is “what are they offering?”
He told Martha MacCallum, “We didn’t hear about their budget plan which would turn Medicare into a voucher program. If you’re a student, it would be harder to get a loan. We didn’t hear about their $5 trillion dollar tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans on the backs of middle class and on the backs of seniors.”
This week in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Democratic National Convention, LaBolt assured that people can expect
to receive a road map from the president on how the party plans to restore economic security for the middle class.
Saving his harshest criticism for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, LaBolt said, “The question Americans are asking is how do we restore economic security for the middle class, and Governor Romney ultimately failed to answer that question last week. If you were an undecided voter watching, you really just heard a parade of lies.”
