WATCH: Shepard Smith Talks to Brother of Former Navy SEAL Killed in Libya Attack
On Studio B today, Shepard Smith talked to the brother of former Navy SEAL Glen Doherty, who was identified as one of the four victims of the attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
The attack also killed US Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and Sean Smith, a
foreign service information management officer.
According to the family, Doherty was ready to leave the SEALs 11 years ago, but stayed - despite his bad knees - following the 9/11 attacks. He left the Navy in 2005, then started in private security overseas, working in places like Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen.
Greg Doherty described his brother as "loyal, loving... he was the glue that held a lot of people together."
"He was putting himself at risk. ... He felt (his work) was valuable. He was good at what he did. He wanted someone who was good at what they did to be in that position," Doherty said.
