Texas Muslim Community Holds Candlelight Vigil for Victims of US Consulate Attack
People in the Dallas-area Muslim community are paying their respects to those killed in the Benghazi, Libya attack. Nearly one hundred people came out to hold a candlelight vigil to honor the life of Ambassador Chris Stevens and the three other Americans killed at the US consulate on Tuesday.
Organizers say what they really want people to know is that the acts of a few extremists do not represent all Muslims. Samir Mavrakis, a Libyan American, said, “These countries need
political development, they need economic development, they need a lot more awareness so these things that when they happen, obscure somebody did something put it on YouTube, should not have this kind of reaction.”
