Bernie Goldberg: Right-Wing Commentators Are Either 'Political Einsteins or Certifiably Nuts'
Both presidential candidates are gravitating toward softer venues. This past week, Mitt Romney appeared on ‘LIVE! with Kelly and Michael’ while President Obama stopped by the ‘Late Show with David Letterman.’ Fox News contributor Bernie Goldberg said on The O’Reilly Factor that while politicians need to relate to people who don’t watch news shows, “but [Romney] talking about Snooki and [Honey] Boo Boo, I mean this is like … Yogi Berra lecturing about art in the Ming Dynasty in China.”
Regarding Romney’s 47 percent comments that came to light after a secret video was released, Goldberg doesn’t agree with those who say that this will not hurt the GOP candidate. “There are a number of political commentators on the right, on TV and on radio, who say that not only is Mitt Romney going to win
but he’s going to win big...” Goldberg continued, “I’ve got one of two possibilities here. Either they're political Einsteins -- they’re geniuses or they’re certifiably nuts.”
While Goldberg said he does not have nearly as much confidence that Romney will win, he hopes that those who are predicting he will are correct. He added, “I simply don’t think Barack Obama is a good president. I think he’s a very good politician. I think he’s a better politician than Mitt Romney.”
