Cyclist Harassed by Horn-Honking Driver Speaks Out

Last night, we showed you viral video of a 75-year-old driver laying on the horn as he trailed two cyclists. Police used the video, taped on one of the cyclist’s cell phones, to track him down and cited him for harassment.

Today, Dirk Friel, one of the cyclists involved joined Happening Now.

“We were out to enjoy a beautiful fall day in Colorado … When we heard cars coming up from behind, we would go single file and after we went single file, all of the sudden we start hearing this horn.”

When the honking became incessant, Friel started taping it. He said, “Half of me was scared, half of me was angry. I didn’t know how ugly this situation might become.”
