Possible Hostage Situation Underway Inside Pittsburgh's Gateway Center
Gregg Jarrett just reported that we’re getting word of unconfirmed reports of a possible hostage situation inside the Gateway Center in Pittsburgh. There are reports of a man on the 16th floor with a gun, holding hostages. These reports are not confirmed by police.
A security guard reportedly heard a woman saying, “Don’t come in here. You will get hurt.”
Employees in buildings 2 and 3 have been evacuated, and the local subway has been shut down.
10:45a ET UPDATE: Gregg Jarrett reports that we’re now getting details from police about the hostage situation inside the Gateway Center. According to the latest from police, the suspect is ex-military, and used to work at a company
on the 16th floor. He has definitely taken one hostage, possibly two. The hostage is believed to be a male, but there could be a female as well. No shots have been fired, and negotiators are on the scene and have a visual on the man.
