Warrior Ride Across America Kicks Off From California
Right now a dozen people are gearing up to bike across the country. Their goal? To raise funds for foundations that support veteran’s families. The ‘Warrior Ride’ will begin on the West Coast today and end at the World Trade Center in New York on September 30th.
Fox News’ Claudia Cowan reported from Oceanside, California where the cyclists are preparing for their 3,200-mile journey. In a show of endurance and camaraderie, 12 longtime buddies and former Marines are riding to
raise funds for two organizations that support America’s troops and provide scholarships to the children of fallen soldiers.
Ride organizer, David Myers said, “We’re going to be rotating who’s driving, fixing flat tires, making sure guys are getting proper nutrition and hydrating, making sure people are resting at the proper times. And, you know, a lot of that ties into being out on deployment, being a Marine and being part of a unit.”
