General Jack Keane: Iran Wants to Avoid Confrontation With U.S. at All Costs, Despite Recent Threats
A senior commander in the Iranian regime has issued a stark warning that any attack by Israel would force Iran to attack U.S. bases in the region, touching off a broader war.
General Jack Keane joined America’s Newsroom to comment on the threat.
He said, “No one knows for sure what the Iranians would do. They are unpredictable, but I think when you look at it coldly and hardly, the reality is this: the Iranians would avoid military confrontation with the United States at all costs … because The United States is the only country that could defeat their military and change out their regime.”
He believes that the Iranian commander was simply “posturing,” in an effort to prompt U.S. officials to try to pressure Israel not to launch an attack.
