Megyn Kelly Chastises Guest for Steering Interview About Obama’s ‘View’ Appearance
A debate on Monday’s America Live turned heated when former Democratic pollster Bernard Whitman attempted to turn a conversation about President Obama’s decision to appear on 'The View' instead of meeting with world leaders during the UN General Assembly into a “history lesson” on his foreign policy accomplishments.
Whitman started his argument by saying, “Let’s look at what this president has accomplished in three-and-a-half years. He ended the war in Iraq, a war that we never should have gotten into…”
Megyn Kelly interrupted, “I am going to give you the floor, Bernard, but let’s stay on point. We’re not looking back over three years to talk about a history lesson.
The question is is it fair for them to criticize him for meeting with the ladies of ‘The View’ but not world leaders. It’s not about whether he has a good foreign policy record or not.” Whitman countered, “We ought to talk about what the benefits are to the American people, and how the American people view this leader…”
“As the anchor, I will determine what we ought to talk about because my producers and I spend a lot of time in the mornings trying to decide that! I want to give you the floor but I want you to stay on point,” Kelly said. Watch the exchange below:
