War Vet Dies Saving Wife From Oncoming Car
A Purple Heart recipient tragically turned heroic husband when he pushed his wife out of the way of an oncoming car, saving her life, but losing his own in the process. Korean War veteran Rubin Baum and his wife Denise were hailing a taxi in New York City when a car spun out of control, and hit the 80-year-old.
Shepherd Baum spoke of his father’s heroism, saying, “His last act was to save my mom so I wouldn’t lose both my parents.”
Police are still investigating the accident.
