Mitt Romney: Obama’s Vision for America is ‘Entirely Foreign’

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his running mate Paul Ryan campaigned today in Vandalia, Ohio with the support of Senators Rand Paul (R-KY) and Rob Portman (R-OH). On day one in office, Ryan said that Romney would “say yes” to the Keystone pipeline. The Wisconsin congressman hit President Obama on his economic policies, telling the crowd, “The Obama economic agenda failed, not because it was stopped, but because it passed.”

Ryan reaffirmed, “Let’s never forget this -- that most of our jobs in this country come from those small businesses in this country, from those successful small businesses in this country. We need to reform our tax code system so it’s fair, simple and competitive.”

Crticizing the president’s plan to invest in green energy companies, Romney said, “He spent $90 billion

and sent them to companies in many cases that were owned by campaign contributors of his.”

He continued, “This is a vision of government that’s entirely foreign to anything this nation has ever known -- the idea of a larger and larger government taking more and more from the people, […] investing so to speak in companies, picking winners and losers, or in [Obama's] case, losers.”

Gov. Romney joked about Sen. Portman’s help with debate rehearsals, saying, “He plays Barack Obama; he plays him well, too I hate to tell you.”
