Rep. Chaffetz: U.S. Consulate in Libya Was 'Begging' for Tighter Security Prior to 9/11 Attack
Lawmakers are pressing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for answers on how security was handled at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, prior to a September 11th attack that killed four Americans.
On Fox and Friends this morning, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), Chairman of the House Oversight Subcommittee, expressed dismay over the State Department's lack of response to requests from Benghazi for more security. He points out there had been attacks on the British ambassador.
"What they were doing is diminishing security in the name of normalizing relations. I'm worried they were making political decisions instead of letting security dictate the results," Chaffetz said.
