Peter Johnson Jr.: Americans Are 'Mature Enough to Understand' What's Really Going On in Middle East
Fox News legal analyst Peter Johnson Jr. sat down with Steve Doocy on Fox and Friends to give his take on a report that Al Qaeda in Iraq has doubled in size over the past year.
He said the Obama administration's
response to the Libya attack - in which they claimed it was a spontaneous result of protests - stems from a desire to portray Al Qaeda as a diminishing threat, and therefore claim President Obama's Middle East polices have succeeded.
"There's been three types of lies: every terrorist incident is a one-off or not a terrorist incident at all, the Arab Spring was a positive, optimistic development for the United States - it was never and it is not - and the Libyan attack was somehow a spontaneous demonstration. ... There's a pattern of misinformation and disinformation, and it appears to be dissembling and deception. It really has to stop because the American people are mature enough to understand the real narrative in the Mideast," said Johnson Jr.
