Peter Johnson Jr. Sizes Up The Contenders in Tonight's Debate
Fox News legal analyst Peter Johnson, Jr. stopped by Fox and Friends to size up the contenders in tonight’s vice presidential debate.
“Biden needs to win a knockout blow in order to turn this thing around,” stated Johnson. “That’s a tough, tough thing for him to do, but he needs to win this thing decisively tonight, based on the president’s very poor performance,” he added.
Johnson also outlined what Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan needs to do
to win over the American public. “We know from Pew and other polls that more people have a favorable opinion of Paul Ryan than they do of Joe Biden,” he said. “He needs to leverage that today.” Johnson went on to say that Ryan needs to reassure the American public. “They need to say, ‘OK, he’s a guy that we can trust, he’s a guy that we can believe in, he’s a guy that we have confidence in.’”
However, Johnson warned viewers not to underestimate Biden, because according to him, “There’s nobody better in this country in appealing to every particular voting group. He will laugh, he may cry, he will say that he has something in common with everybody in this country.”
“The stakes are really, really high,” he added. “It should be exciting.”
