Rep. Trey Gowdy: I Want To Know Who Told Amb. Rice To Lie to the American People
Earlier Thursday morning on America’s Newsroom, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R) joined Alisyn Camerota to explain his thoughts on the administration’s handling of the terrorist attacks in Libya.
During yesterday’s House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing, Gowdy made clear to the committee that he wanted answers to the Libya terrorist attack.
At the hearing, he claimed that Amb. Susan Rice and Press Secretary Jay Carney lied to the American people when they went on television and claimed as fact that the attacks on the consulate in Libya were from an out-of-hand protest caused by a controversial internet video.
Gowdy told Alisyn that he wants Amb. Rice to “…come under oath and explain to us — who gave you this faulty information that you then went on five different television shows and shared with the American people.”
He continued, “When people in positions of trust, mislead us – either recklessly, negligently or intentionally, that impacts the republic. That impacts our ability to believe them the next time there is an attack.”
