VP Debate Quote: Biden – It's About Time Republicans Take Responsibility for Holding Middle Class Tax Cuts Hostage
When asked during Thursday's vice presidential debate, if and when the Obama administration could get unemployment to under 6 percent, Joe Biden asserted that they could and would, but admitted that he didn't know when.
He cited the Obama administration's attempts to stimulate the economy, which were in direct contrast to Governor Romney's desire to "let Detroit go bankrupt."
Biden charged, "It shouldn't be surprising for a guy who says 47 percent of the American people are unwilling to take responsibility for their own lives."
"It's about time they take some responsibility here and instead of signing pledges to Grover Norquist … they should be signing a pledge to the middle class saying we're going to level the playing field," he said.
He continued, "They're pushing the continuation of a tax cut that will give an additional $500 billion in tax cuts to 120,000 families. They're holding hostage a middle class tax cut."
