Geraldo: Biden Kept Democrats ‘In the Game,’ But Ryan Held His Own
“I think what Joe Biden did last night was stop the needle from plummeting any further on the Democratic side,” said Geraldo Rivera during a visit to Fox and Friends on Friday morning.
Filling his commentary with sports analogies, Rivera weighed in on the most controversial aspects of the 2012 vice presidential debate, and most notably, Joe Biden’s professionalism. “He was so rude, he was so toothy, he was so over-dramatic,” Rivera said, but added that he felt those qualities didn’t necessarily make Biden unlikeable last night. “He’s like the old shoes you can’t throw out after 40 years,” Rivera remarked.
“I think that Paul Ryan did a magnificent job last night,” he also stated, saying that Ryan held his own against a person “far more experienced." “But on Benghazi-gate, I thought Paul Ryan allowed Joe Biden to sleaze out on, or under, the answer.” Rivera later added. “He let him off the ropes.”
