Hispanic Heritage Month: Fox News' Alicia Acuna Profiles Actress Rita Moreno

On this morning’s Fox and Friends, the Ailes Apprentice Program continued its special series honoring Hispanic Heritage month with a profile of the incomparable Rita Moreno.

With a career that spans 75 years, Rita Moreno has truly done it all: She’s an actress, a singer, a dancer and — most recently — an author. In her new book titled “Rita Moreno: A Memoir,” the 80-year old entertainer opens up about her life in the spotlight, as well as her struggle with typecasting and personal identity.

“I was born to this,” Moreno says of her career, discussing her early life in Puerto Rico all the way up through her current projects. “I love the attention, and any performer who tells you otherwise is lying,” she says with a smile on her face.

Moreno is also great at what she does, being one of the only 14 performers (and the only Hispanic performer) to receive an Emmy, a Tony, a Grammy and an Oscar during her career.

“I’m an actress who can do — in my opinion, anyway — anything that I want to do,” says Moreno. “I’m at the top of my game, as far as I’m concerned. I’m in the prime of my life and I’m 80,” she adds. “And I am the happiest Puerto Rican you’ve ever met.”
