Huckabee: In VP Debate, Biden Came Across Like the 'Obnoxious Drunk' You Meet at a Cocktail Party
Gov. Mike Huckabee weighed in on the vice presidential debate this morning on America's Newsroom and he wasn't mincing words. Huckabee, like many other observers, took issue with
the way Vice President Joe Biden acted toward his much younger opponent, Rep. Paul Ryan.
"I thought that Joe Biden came across like a guy that you meet at a cocktail party or some political event - an obnoxious drunk, who's loud and boisterous and interrupts every conversation. He just is the kind of guy you want to get away from," said the former GOP presidential candidate.
Huckabee pointed out that across America, especially in the Midwest and South, manners and politeness matter to people.
"What you saw last night was the kind of behavior that is a real turnoff to people who grew up being told that manners is as important as anything that you say or do," said Huckabee.
He also took issue with the performance of moderator Martha Raddatz, saying he thought she pressed Ryan for more facts and explanation than she did with Biden. The Gov. also lamented a missed opportunity for Ryan, saying the Wisconsin congressman should have stopped at some point and called Biden out for his persistent laughter and interruptions.
