Romney Senior Adviser Tries to Clarify Romney's Stance on Abortion
Romney campaign senior adviser, Ed Gillespie, joined Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. Wallace asked Gillespie about Mitt Romney’s record on abortion. On Tuesday, the GOP presidential candidate told the Des Moines Register that there is no legislation regarding to abortion that would become part of his agenda.
This conflicts with Romney's pro-life agenda which includes a law to protect unborn children, ending federal funding of Planned Parenthood, and overturning Roe vs. Wade. Gillespie maintained that Romney is pro-life and would continue that stance as president.
He responded to David Axelrod’s explanation
that Vice President Joe Biden was only referring to himself and the president when he said during the debate that they were unaware of requests for more security in Libya.
Gillespie told Wallace that there needs to be “honest” and “accurate answers” to what happened leading up to the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya.
Gillespie believes that this was an effort by the Obama White House to put blame on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the State Department. “Frankly, I think the buck does stop at the Oval Office,” he said.
Wallace questioned Gillespie on how the Romney-Ryan ticket specifically plans on paying for cutting tax rates by limiting deductions. Watch their back-and-forth below:
