Actress Eva Longoria Under Fire for Vulgar Anti-Romney Retweet
Actress Eva Longoria, who also serves as an Obama campaign co-chair, has sparked a major controversy with a recent post on Twitter. Longoria apparently retweeted a message from one of her followers that read:
“I have no idea why any woman/minority can vote for Romney. You have to be stupid to vote for such a racist/misogynistic tw**.”
Longoria quickly took the tweet off her timeline, but not before drawing fire from both sides of the aisle. The actress blamed the retweet on Twitter, writing, “Is anyone else’s twitter bugging out? There are things in my timeline I didn’t retweet today. Hmmm? Standby trying to fix!”
While not a direct apology, she did eventually tweet, “For the record I have never personally called any conservative women stupid. I think u are all beautiful and strong and smart!”
