Mike Huckabee: 'I Think Mitt Romney is Going to Carry Florida'

A new Fox News poll shows Mitt Romney ahead by three points in Florida, one of the most important swing states in the nation. Former governor and Fox News contributor Mike Huckabee explained why that is on this morning’s Fox and Friends.

“Barring something major, [Romney] is going to win Florida for four reasons,” began Huckabee. The first of which, he explained, was

“a huge shift in this state in women voters,” pointing to a 19-point swing. He also characterized Florida as a big military state for both active and retired military persons, a demographic that has shown “incredibly strong support” for Romney. Huckabee felt that seniors were shifting the polls as well, because “they know $716 billion was cut from medicare in Obamacare — not by Romney.” And finally, Huckabee described how an organization called Secure America Now might be swaying Florida’s Jewish voters.

Huckabee also gave advice to Romney for the final presidential debate, suggesting that he ask tough questions about the Obama administration’s handling of the Benghazi situation and the controversy over its “terrorism” status. “This administration simply does not want to call terrorism what it is,” said Huckabee, advising that Romney push Obama for answers at tonight’s debate.
