LISTEN: Girl's Frantic 9-1-1 Call After Burglars Break Into Her Home
It was a harrowing ordeal and narrow escape for a 10-year-old girl after several people broke into her house while she was home alone. Paityn Mock was at home, sick from school that day in Camas, Washington. Her mom was out picking up lunch when the girl heard the doorbell ring continuously.
She called her mom, who told her not to answer, but it was too late … the intruders had already broken in. Paityn’s mom told her to hang up and call 9-1-1 as she raced home. As Paityn hid in the pantry, she told the dispatcher, “My dogs are in the house and I’m afraid they are going to get killed.”
The dispatcher told her to sneak out of the house. Paityn was hiding in the yard when she saw her mom rush into the house. She yelled out, but her mom was already inside. Luckily, at the same moment deputies rolled up at the scene and caught one man outside. Investigators say they found drugs and stolen guns inside the house, but they’re still looking for two more suspects.
