President Obama on Sandy: 'I'm Not Worried About the Impact on the Election'
During remarks given last hour on preparations underway for Hurricane Sandy, President Obama responded to a reporter's question about whether or not he was concerned about the potential impact the storm could have on next week's election.
“I'm not worried at this point about the impact on the election [...] I'm worried about the impact on families, first responders, [and the] economy. The election will take care of itself next week,” he said.
“The priority right now is to make sure we’re saving lives … and that we respond as quickly as possible to get the economy back on track.”
