Hurricane Sandy Aftermath: More than 18,000 Flights Canceled
On today's Your World, Cavuto reported that northward of 18,000 flights have already been canceled as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Experts say that it could take up to a week or more for airlines to get back up and running.
Avitation expert Michael Boyd joined Neil to discuss what exactly is going on at the airports.
Boyd says that while airlines are pretty efficient at getting back up and running, the issue still lies with the facilities.
For example, LaGuardia airport's runways and lighting systems are all under water, which will take some time to get working again. Boyd also noted that a lot of the equipment is covered in a salty-brine, which will require extensive cleaning.
