Emotional Videos: Chris Christie Consoles Distraught Sayreville Residents
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie took time during a tour of the devastation in the town of Sayreville, New Jersey to console shaken and upset residents.
One woman, in tears as the governor spoke to her, putting both hands on her shoulders, told him, "I can't do this anymore..." The governor can be heard trying to calm her, saying, "I know, I know."
In a second heart-wrenching video, another woman
received consolation from the governor, as she chokes back tears, repeating over and over, "I've got nothing, nothing, nothing."
More on Sandy's Aftermath:
"I have nothing left down there; it's all ruined [...] no memories, nothing," she said, adding, "I'm gonna lose it," to which Christie replied, "No, don't you now!"
After the woman explained her outburst by saying, "I'm devastated," Christie told her, "You should be. But you have to take a deep breath."
