Hurricane Sandy Miracle: New Jersey Couple Welcomes Baby Boy at Make-Shift Medical Shelter
One little boy made a dramatic debut in the midst of Hurricane Sandy. Christine Schleppy went into labor five weeks early, and dodged the storm’s wrath as she tried to make it to the hospital. Thankfully, in one of the bright spots in this storm, Liam was born healthy. He and his parents, Christine and David, joined Fox and Friends this morning.
Christine said that on Monday, she began having contractions, which were really nothing new as she’d been experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions regularly. When they worsened, the Schleppys knew they had to try to make their way to the hospital. A local ambulance tried to get them to Princeton Medical Center, but subsequently got stuck in the mud. The couple ended up at a makeshift medical center, where Christine gave birth without an epidural.
