Many pundits believe the polls are pointing to the Democrats holding on to a slim majority in the Senate. Currently, Dems have a 53-47 voting advantage over Republicans.
Republican George Allen, formerly governor of Virginia and a U.S. Senator from 2001-07, trails Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) by less than a point in one of the key Senate races, according to Real Clear Politics' average of the latest polls.
