LUCKY DAY: Woman Finds $23 Million Winning Lottery Ticket in Her Glove Compartment
This is kind of like finding a few dollars in an old jacket. Only multiply that feeling by about 10 million!
A southern California woman, who was struggling to pay her bills, was shocked to discover a winning lottery ticket worth $23 million sitting in the glove compartment of her car. Apparently, 69-year-old Julie Cervera's daughter had purchased the ticket for her at a nearby liquor store and forgotten about it.
A friend notified Cervera that they had seen
a woman that looked like her daughter on a surveillance photo taken outside the store. Lottery officials had released the photo to the public, hoping to find the person who bought the ticket five months ago.
If another month had passed, the family would have been unable to claim their riches. According to AP, Cervera said she has hundreds of old tickets laying around and sometimes never even checks them.
