Gov. Bob McDonnell: Issue of Possible Defense Budget Cuts Will Fuel Romney Win in Virginia
Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) is confident that Mitt Romney will carry his state's 13 critical electoral votes, reversing President Obama's victory in Virginia four years ago.
He was on Fox and Friends this morning to talk about the race, along with some of the key governor's races that are being contested today.
So which candidate will Virginia?
McDonnell believes Romney has the edge because of scheduled sequestration cuts that will slash the defense budget in January. Tens of thousands of jobs in his state would be affected by such cuts.
"Defense folks, I think, are on notice and I think they'll be casting their votes accordingly. I think Governor Romney is the only one that has said, 'I'll reverse these and build the Navy back up,' and have a more balanced approach to cuts," he said.
