Scott Brown Concedes to Elizabeth Warren After a Bitter Battle; But Is It the End of His Senate Career?
Republican Scott Brown conceded his Massachusetts Senate seat to Democrat Elizabeth Warren. It was a bitter campaign filled with negative ads and personal attacks from both sides. During Brown’s concession speech all of that seemed to be a thing of the past.
The former senator said, “I accept the decision of the voters and I have already offered my sincerest congratulations to Senator-elect Warren.”
The crowd booed, but Brown
went on to say, “She won it fair and square folks, […] and she has received a high honor of holding the people’s seat. And may she bring – may she bring that Senate office great credit, just as I set out to do nearly three years ago.”
Also in his speech, Brown hinted that he may run again. There is talk that if Sen. John Kerry is elevated into a position in President Obama’s cabinet, that Brown could win his seat.
