Hector Camacho, Former Boxing Champ, on Life Support After Being Shot in Face
Former boxing champ Hector 'Macho' Camacho, 50, was shot and critically injured last night after he and a friend became the victims of a drive-by shooting in the athlete's native Puerto Rico.
The friend was killed in the shooting, which happened outside of a bar on Tuesday night, and Camacho is now on life support after being shot in the face. One representative said Camacho's mother is flying in to Puerto Rico from the United States to reportedly decide whether or not to take her son off of life support.
Hector Camacho won a string of world titles in the 1980s and 90s and went up against the likes of Oscar de la Hoya and Sugar Ray Leonard. His last fight took place back in 2008, and he won.
