VIDEO -- Rice Defends Benghazi Remarks: ‘I Relied Solely on Information Provided to Me by the Intelligence Community’

Embattled U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice has come forward to defend her actions in the days following the September 11 Benghazi attack. Rice received much criticism for saying that the attack was the result of a spontaneous demonstration prompted by an anti-Islam video.

“When discussing the attacks against our facilities in Benghazi, I relied solely and squarely on the information provided to me by the intelligence community. I made clear that the information was preliminary and that our investigation would give us the definitive answers,” Rice said.

Rice has recently been rumored to be a possible pick for Secretary of State. So, how will the Benghazi scandal impact her chances of assuming that role?

Pete Snyder, the CEO of Disrupter Capital, weighed in on this morning’s Fox and Friends, saying, “I think she sealed her fate when the White House trotted her out to be the defender in chief, the spinmeister in chief, really covering up what happened in Benghazi.”
