Saudi Arabia Implements Electronic Tracking of Women Who Attempt to Leave the Country
During tonight’s Political Grapevine, Bret Baier reported on a story out of Saudi Arabia where men are receiving text message alerts if their wives (or any female dependent) attempt to leave the country. Under a strict interpretation of a small sect of Islam, women are not allowed to leave Saudi Arabia without permission from their male guardian. Badriya al-Bishr, a Saudi journalist, says women
are held in a state of slavery and that “this is technology used to serve backwardness in order to keep women imprisoned.”
