Washington Post Accuses GOP of Racism Against Amb. Susan Rice

The mainstream media is defending U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, for the role that she played in the events that unfolded after the Benghazi, Libya terrorist attack. In the days after the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Amb. Rice went on several Sunday talk shows and stated that the attack was a response to an anti-Islamic film.

The Washington Post’s editorial board published a piece titled, “The GOP’s Bizarre Attack on Susan Rice.” The article reads in part, “Could it be, as members of the Congressional Black Caucus are charging, that the signatories of the letter are targeting Ms. Rice because she is an African American woman?”

Of the nearly 100 Republicans who sent a letter

to President Obama urging him not to name Susan Rice as the next secretary of state, more than 80 of them are white, male, and half are from states of the former Confederacy.

Tonight on Hannity, Fox News contributor Deneen Borelli responded to the left-wing charge and said, “You can’t color code criticism. This has nothing to do about her skin color, Susan Rice; it’s all about her competency. She misled the American people.”

Democratic strategist Michael Brown agreed with Borelli that the criticisms from the right have nothing to do with race or gender. While it may be about politics, he said, “In all fairness to Ambassador Rice, she was given particular information and that’s what she relayed. […] That doesn’t make her a liar, it doesn’t make her incompetent. It means that she got information that wasn’t correct.”
