Scary Video: Nearly One Dozen People Fall in Frozen Lake During Dangerous Ice Rescue
Californians were enjoying the winter weather at Jackson Lake recently when a shocking event threatened the life of almost one dozen people, including adults and children. One woman caught the event on camera, noticing a "big crack" in the ice ... and a man sitting on a sled right next to it.
Another sledder can be seen sliding across the ice next to him. Before long, the ice breaks and the pair - along with others trying to come to their rescue - fall in.
Screams of "call 911!" can be heard from people in the crowd, some of whom stood by without offering any assistance to the helpless victims.
Those in the ice-cold water flailed for nearly eight minutes before someone finally threw out a rope lifeline and they were pulled to safety. Luckily no one was killed, and everyone escaped with only minor injuries.
The lake is closed until March when the ice melts.
