Virginia Residents Call 911 After Mistaking a Labradoodle for a Lion
Several residents of Virginia Beach, Virginia were sent into a tizzy when they spotted what they believed to be a lion roaming through town.
One caller can be heard telling a 911 dispatcher, “I’m driving down Granby Street right before the zoo and there’s a lion that ran across the street. A baby lion.”
Well, the animal wasn’t a lion after all but a dog groomed to look like one! “Charles the Monarch” is a labradoodle whose haircut resembles the mane of a lion.
After receiving several 911 calls, police called the Norfolk Zoo to make sure all of the lions were in their cages. Of course, they were.
