BREAKING: House Passes Bill to Suspend Debt Ceiling Until May 19
The Republican-controlled House of Representatives passed a bill that suspends the debt ceiling until May 19, staving off a potential default on U.S. debt and other negative consequences.
It also aims to force Congress to pass a budget by putting members’ pay in jeopardy. The measure, which the White House previously said it would approve, will now head to the Democratic-controlled Senate.
