Rand Paul: There Could Be Another Attack If the State Department Continues Protecting Embassies in War Zones
During the Senate hearing on the Benghazi attack, Sen. Rand Paul told Secretary of State Hillary Clinton the he believes she should’ve been fired for not reading requests for more help from Amb. Chris Stevens, who was killed.
He said, “Had I been president at the time, and I found that you did not read the cables from Benghazi, you did not read the cables from Ambassador Stevens, I would have relieved you of your post.”
Tonight on Hannity, Sen. Paul explained further, saying, “I think that the families of those who died in Benghazi, they deserve accountability
, they deserve someone to step up to take responsibility. And I think it’s wrong that no one was fired.”
The Republican senator went on to say, “The embassy in a war torn area like Libya should be treated like a war zone and they should be protected by the military. I don’t think the State Department’s capable of this, so I feel there could be another tragedy unless we have the military guarding embassies in very dangerous countries.”
