DETAILS: Bipartisan Group of Senators Reach Deal on Sweeping Immigration Reform

A bipartisan group of senators is set to announce the framework for a deal that could bring sweeping changes to our immigration laws.

According to sources, the deal has four main goals. They are:

  • Establishing a path to citizenship for the 11 million immigrants who are already living here.
  • Reforming the legal immigration system.
  • Establishing an employment verification program to prevent employers from hiring illegal immigrants.
  • Establishing an agricultural worker program.

Steve Centanni reports that the senators will unveil their plan at 2:30p ET today.
