Yemeni Coast Guard Intercepts Ship Reportedly Filled With Weapons

The Yemeni Coast Guard has intercepted a ship loaded with weapons. The U.S. Navy provided help the interception in Yemen’s territorial waters. On board were surface-to-air missiles called MANPADs which are used to shoot down civilian and military aircraft. Also found on the ship were C4 military grade explosives, 122mm shells, RPGs and bomb making equipment including electronic circuits, triggers for roadside bombs and vehicle IEDs.

Yemeni crew members on board, though it’s not clear what the point of origin of the ship was.
