Judge Napolitano: Stricter Gun Control Is Part of the Progressive Ideology to 'Tell Us How to Live'

At a Senate hearing on gun violence yesterday, lawmakers heard testimony from former congresswoman Gabby Giffords, her husband Mark Kelly, and NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre.

On Fox and Friends,Judge Andrew Napolitano was asked where all of these hearings and proposals on new gun laws will ultimately lead.

Napolitano explained that he does not believe President Obama's

plans for stricter gun laws will make it through Congress "because he effectively wants to punish the law-abiding" because of the horrific actions of a few criminals. He explained that the push for more gun control is in line with the philosophy of progressivism.

"Almost all presidents (over the past 100 years) think that they can tell us how to live. And they will use (tragedies like Sandy Hook) as an excuse to tell us how to live by taking guns away from us. If they can get away with it," said Napolitano.
