VIDEO – Chuck Hagel During Confirmation Hearing: ‘No One Individual Vote, Quote or Statement Defines Me’

In his opening statements during a Senate confirmation hearing Thursday, Chuck Hagel, President Obama's nominee for defense secretary, defended his record despite criticism.

Hagel said, "No one individual vote, quote, or statement defines me, my beliefs, or my record." He told lawmakers, "My overall worldview has never changed: that America has and must maintain the strongest military in the world."
