SLIDESHOW: Greta Van Susteren Picks Her Top Moments From 11 Years of 'On the Record'

Today is On the Record's 11th birthday! To celebrate, Greta Van Susteren is taking a look back at her top 11 'On the Record' moments. Check out her slideshow and reflections below. Congratulations, Greta -- and here's to 11 more years of memories! Tune in to On the Record, weeknights at 10p/1a ET only on Fox News Channel.

1.) Presidents George H.W. Bush & Bill Clinton after Hurricane Ike

This picture with Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton is one of my all-time favorites! It was taken in Galveston, Texas after Hurricane Ike in 2008. Despite political differences, these two presidents worked together to help rebuild after the storm. It also showed a unique situation – a Republican, a Democrat and a member of the media all working together for a common purpose. No one was taking a swat at another.

2.) President George W. Bush & First Lady Laura Bush in the Middle East

During an interview with President George W. Bush in Dubai, we happened to walk onto a terrace overlooking the Strait of Hormuz. Since IRAN is on the other side of the Strait of Hormuz, it was the perfect time for me to bring up the important topic of nuclear weapons and Iran. It also happened to be at a time when Iran was threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz and we had a bit of a Navy skirmish with them.

I’ve also traveled to the Middle East with First Lady Laura Bush to interview her about breast cancer awareness. We traveled to many Middle Eastern countries with very different values than our own. In some countries, women don’t have cancer screening because no male doctor is to look at their bodies without a husband’s approval and that is not easy to get. In one country, women are not allowed to drive so they can’t even get to the doctor’s office for a breast cancer screening!

3.) Trips to North Korea

I’ve been to North Korea three times and actually broadcast live on OTR during my visit there in May 2011. The government wouldn’t let us take photos of the army … but what a good fortune! See behind me!

4.) Green Bay Packers/Brett Favre Interview

As a part-owner (one share worth $200) of the Green Bay Packers, it was a huge thrill to interview Brett Favre about his news-grabbing retirement.

Fun fact: I’m such a die-hard Packers fan that I keep a cheesehead in my office!

5.) Sudan and South Sudan Trip

One of the trips that has impacted me the most was my visit to Sudan and South Sudan with Reverend Franklin Graham and Samaritan’s Purse in April 2012. We saw the unthinkable – people starving and injured because President Bashir was bombing their villages and fields. At best, many were eating leaves and bugs while others had simply no food. While not all of the images from this trip are pleasant, I think it’s important to shine a spotlight on this heartbreaking situation and fight to stop President Bashir.

6.) Shopping with President Karzai & Secretary Clinton

During a trip to Afghanistan with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, I stopped at a market outside the presidential palace to pick out a tie for my husband as a souvenir. I was doing this while Secretary Clinton met privately with President Hamid Karzai inside the palace. All of a sudden, I heard Secretary Clinton say, “Mr. President, I want you to meet Greta Van Susteren.” I turned around, introduced myself and President Karzai helped me pick out a tie!

7.) Cal Ripken, Jr. & Muhammad Ali

Two sports greats in one picture! I’ve interviewed Cal Ripken, Jr. a few times (I’ve even played catch with him) and I have met Muhammad Ali before but it was wonderful to see them both again!

8.) Fun on the 2012 Campaign Trail

During the 2012 presidential race, I hit the campaign trail – even traveling with Governor Mitt Romney to England, Israel and Poland. I also went to South Carolina to interview Gov. Nikki Haley and Gov. Romney on the day she endorsed him. What you didn’t see is that the interview actually took place at a fire station! We had a great time talking with the firefighters before the interview – they even let me get in a fire truck!

9.) Mets First Pitch

One of my greatest athletic accomplishments was throwing out the first pitch at a New York Mets game. I threw the pitch from the mound and made it all the way to the home plate! Let me repeat: I threw the pitch from the top of the mound – and made it all the way to home plate!

10.) NASDAQ Opening Bell

Last year, I rang the opening bell at NASDAQ to celebrate OTR’s 10th anniversary. Not only that, but NASDAQ also put my picture up on their massive video screen in Times Square! (And yes, that is really fun for someone who grew up far away in Appleton, Wisconsin!)

11.) Jack Hanna’s Animals

I am a huge animal lover, as evidenced by the pictures of my dogs and cats I am constantly putting up on >GretaWire. It’s really fun to get up close and personal with the exotic animals Jack Hanna brings when he stops by OTR! Frankly, if I could have the job running the zoo, I would grab it!
