BLOG: Harris Faulkner Previews Her Interview With Captain Gail Harris, U.S. Navy (Ret.)

In honor of Black History Month, the Ailes Apprentice Program is sponsoring a special series celebrating exceptional African Americans. Tomorrow morning at 8:20a ET, tune in to Fox and Friends for Harris Faulkner’s interview with Captain Gail Harris, U.S. Navy (ret.). Harris gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the interview below.

By Harris Faulkner:

She is so funny! Before her interview, I first met Captain Gail Harris when she was addressing a crowd as a motivational speaker. As she took the stage to speak at an Ailes Apprentice Program event at Fox News Headquarters recently, the audience had no idea what was coming. She is a force. Her tips on leadership captivated even the highest executives in the room. She’s someone viewers should definitely meet. So, cue my producer Brad Newman and me with our intrepid spirit of grilling anyone we meet like a legal deposition, LOL.

Poor Captain Harris. She met her match when she sat down to interview for my series that continues this Friday on Fox & Friends! She likened it to a former military intelligence grilling during the Cold War. There’s so much to ask this U.S. Military Veteran about overcoming obstacles, handling super secret intelligence that saved lives and speaking to young people all over the country now. What’s on her resume? Well, she grew up in one of the toughest, most dangerous neighborhoods in America. She went on to become the highest ranking woman in the U.S. Navy before she retired. How did she do that?

One of the great blessings of having my job is the fabulous access I have to dynamic newsmakers. This interview subject is no exception. Can’t wait to add my curves to the "curvy couch" on Fox & Friends! Hope you’ll tune in this Friday, 8:20 a.m. February 8th.
