LATEST INFO: Trace Gallagher on What Friends Are Saying About Ex-LAPD Officer Christopher Dorner
The manhunt continues for former LAPD officer and U.S. Navy reservist Christopher Dorner. The search is focused on the mountains of Big Bear, California, where the 33-year-old's burned-out pickup truck was discovered yesterday. Police have said today they have no new clues or leads on Dorner's whereabouts and aside from his car, have not seen any evidence of his presence on the mountain.
San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon said
there more than 100 officers on the ground looking for Dorner. He said they are trying to go around to abandoned cabins on the mountain to make sure Dorner is not hiding in any of them. But heavy snow is falling today, slowing down the search efforts.
Dorner is suspected in the murders of a woman and her fiance last weekend. He is also accused of fatally shooting a Riverside, Calif., police officer and wounding two others. The woman that was killed, Monica Quan, was the daughter of a former Los Angeles police captain who represented Dorner in disciplinary hearings that resulted in his dismissal.
Dorner penned a disturbing manifesto, laying out the motives for his attacks.
On America Live this afternoon, Trace Gallagher laid out all of the new information that we've learned about Dorner as friends and acquaintances speak out about the murder suspect. Jamie Usera, a college friend who was actually named in the manifesto, said Dorner never seemed like the kind of person who would be in this situation.
