Hannity Interview: Phil Bronstein Reveals Details of Navy SEAL Who Killed Usama Bin Laden

The Navy SEAL who killed Usama bin Laden spoke out about the mission to kill the world’s most wanted terrorist and his life now. In an interview with Esquire Magazine, he was referred to as “the Shooter” and tonight, Phil Bronstein, the author who interviewed the Navy SEAL joined Hannity.

The shooter said he’s since left the SEALs, a few years short of the 20-year requirement to collect a pension. The veteran said he has no health care or protection for his family.

Bronstein clarified

that the former Navy SEAL did not do this to capitalize on the raid and that this was meant to show the human side of the story. “He has not written a book, he has not made money from it, but […] he’s struggling in the sense that a lot of these guys are struggling, that they’re not getting enough transition help. But he’s a resourceful, hilariously funny, tough guy.”

Describing the killing, the shooter told Bronstein that he questioned whether it was the best thing he's ever done or the worst thing. “In that second, I shot him, two times in the forehead. […] He crumpled onto the floor in front of his bed and I hit him again. [...] He was dead. Not moving. His tongue was out. I watched him take his last breaths, just a reflex breath."

The Navy responded to the shooter's interview in a statement, saying, “...We take seriously the safety and security of our people, as well as our responsibility to assist Sailors making a transition to civilian life. Without more information about this particular case, it would be difficult to determine the degree to which our transition programs succeeded.”
