RPT: Carnival Cruise Ship Carrying Thousands Is Stranded, Disgusting

A Carnival cruise ship is stranded in the Gulf of Mexico after a fire knocked out power to the engines on Sunday.

The Triumph, which is carrying more than 4,000 passengers and crew members, is currently located about 207 miles off the coast of Alabama, where it is slowly being dragged toward a port in Mobile with the aid of two tugboats.

Carnival has since released a statement saying, “All of our guests are safe, and we’re doing everything we can to make them as comfortable as possible” while they’re stranded on the ship. Two other Carnival cruise liners were even able to rendezvous with the Triumph in order to lend aid and supplies.

Still, many of the stranded passengers are reporting worsening conditions aboard the ship, including

a complete lack of working toilets as well as sewage leaking down the walls and seeping into the carpets.

At a speed of eight miles per hour, the ship is expected to reach Mobile on Thursday, or maybe earlier if the ocean currents continue as they have.
